When does the race take place?
September 19–20, 2026.
Where are the start and finish lines?
Mavili Square for all races.
Who are the organizers?
LIMNI & A.O. Poseidon Ioannina, in cooperation with the Municipality of Ioannina and the Region of Epirus.
Races & Courses
What races are available?
30km Run & Walk, 10km, 5km, free kids’ races, Para-athlete races (AMEA), Family Run, and Baby Lake Run.
Who can participate?
30km: Participants must be over 18 years old. 10km & 5km: Participants must be over 12 years old (parental consent is required for minors).
Are there time limits?
30km Run: 5 hours. 30km Walk: 6 hours. 10km: 90 minutes. 5km: 60 minutes
Are the courses certified?
Yes, all competitive courses (5km, 10km, and 30km) are IAAF/AIMS certified.
Are there refreshment stations?
- The 30km race features 12 refreshment stations placed approximately every 2.5km along the course.
- The 10km race features 3 refreshment stations approximately every 2.5km.
- The 5km race features 1 refreshment station along the course.
Registration
How do I register?
Online until August 30, 2026: www.ioanninalakerun.gr/races
What types of registration are available?
Individual, group (≥10 participants), and clubs/associations (≥10 participants).
What does the race pack include?
Technical t-shirt, bib number, electronic timing, finisher’s medal, participation certificate, wristband, on-course refreshments, medical support, and personal photos.
Are discounts available?
Yes, for school students, university students, unemployed individuals, and groups.
Can I cancel my registration?
Cancellations are accepted until August 30, 2026, via email. A €2 bank fee will be retained.
Results & Timing
Is electronic timing available?
Yes, for the 30km, 10km, and 5km races.
When are the results announced?
Unofficial results are available immediately after the race, while official results are published within 15 working days.
Awards & Prizes
What awards are offered?
All finishers will receive a commemorative medal and a race certificate, available for download from the race website once the official results are posted. For the 30km Run, 10km, and 5km races, medals and certificates will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the overall standings. The top three runners in each age category (five-year intervals) will also receive medals and certificates. Award ceremonies will be held exclusively for the overall winners of the three races. No ceremonies will take place for age categories; winners may collect their awards from the race secretariat.
Special awards?
Awards will also be presented to the oldest 30km finisher and to the team with the highest number of participants.
Safety & Medical Support
Is medical support available?
Yes, including mobile medical units, ambulances, volunteer doctors, and the Samaritan Volunteer Rescue Corps.
What is my responsibility?
Participants compete at their own risk. A medical and cardiac check-up prior to the race is strongly recommended.
Personal Belongings & Dropout Support
Where can I leave my personal belongings?
At the 9th Primary School of Soufari Sarai, located approximately 400 meters from the start line.
What happens if I cannot finish the race?
An official race vehicle will be available for runner pickup.
